The DCEU is about to change the hierarchy of power in its expanded universe setting with the announcement of the release date of Dwayne Johnson-led Black Adam. The film entered the development phase in 2016 with the writing and casting taking off shortly after. Dwayne Johnson was announced to serve as the lead of the film and the director was tapped some months after.

The DC Extended Universe is in its full strength as Zack Snyder’s Justice League is crushing it on HBO Max, The Suicide Squad trailer is generating hype for the James Gunn fronted movie and the next year’s solo caped crusader movie The Batman has wrapped production. Amidst all this chaos comes another bomb pointing at the release date of Black Adam which will be making its premiere on July 29, 2022.

The full cast of the film includes Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam, Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, and Aldis Hodge as Hawkman. Jaume Collet Serra will be serving as the director of the film.

2017’s hit action comedy film The Hitman’s Bodyguard generated heavy positive reviews on the streaming giant Netflix as it was a Netflix original film. The film starred Samuel L Jackson and Ryan Reynolds in the lead role. Shortly after the success of the first film Netflix ordered a sequel of the action-comedy film.

The film entered the production phase in 2019 with the title The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. The cast included Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L Jackson, and Salma Hayek. Filming took off in 2019 and wrapped up in 2020 and the film was supposed to come out in 2020 but was delayed to an unspecified release date in 2021.

But Lionsgate just took to Instagram to announce a brand new release date of the film. The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard hits theatres on June 16, 2021.

The only change between these two films would be streaming and theatrical release as the first one came out on Netflix and the other one will premiere in theatres.
