Almost 20 years ago DC came with the film adaptation of our beloved demonologist and master of occult anti-hero John Constantine played by iconic Keanu Reeves. The film fared positively at the box office garnering positive reviews and ratings.

Some years later DC decided to develop a stand-alone television series based on the exorcist character which was portrayed by Matt Ryan. But the show failed to collect the audience due to the lack of story matter and creative aspects.

A couple of years later DC decided to create its television universe titled “Arrowverse” with the first show being Arrow and the follow-up shows being The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, Black Lightning, and Batwoman.

All of these shows are interconnected and intertwined with one singular story binding them all into one shared universe. However, Matt Ryan’s John Constantine was cast as a recurring character in all of these shows and making him a series regular on Legends of Tomorrow.

DC explained his timeline by announcing that his standalone show was being included in a multiverse format. And that is how we got our very first introduction to DC multiverse.

Now with news coming in from DC that the creative brain of J J Abrams has announced that a single standalone series is in development based on our friendly demonic character. Making Matt Ryan’s character vulnerable for future possibilities.

Abrams has worked on numerous projects that include Star Trek, Star Wars, and Mission Impossible Series. The writer-director is also developing a Justice League Dark series based on the supernatural heroes in the DC comics.

The Arrowverse is bringing out the Superman and Lois series next week that would expand the universe’s setting with The Flash expected to air its episodes for season 7 from March 2 and apart from that legends of tomorrow are expected to drop its next season around April.

DC also has a number of shows in the early stages of development with Green Lantern, Gotham City Police Department, and Painkiller. Apart from that James Gunn-led Peacemaker series is scheduled to air its episodes in January next year.
