The cinematic maestro and the father of modern-day classics David Fincher have announced a brand new film within the genre that he has been working his whole life in. The mastermind filmmaker has announced a chilling thriller titled “The Killer“.
David Fincher signed a 4 project deal with Netflix with the very first being the Golden Globe-nominated film Mank. The deal came in the form of a trust and faith that was build-up by the success of House of Cards and Mindhunter in which David Fincher contributed as Director for some episodes along with an executive producer.
Netflix has always managed to bring up original thriller content in the form of Mindhunter, Dark, Unbelievable, and Kingdom. Netflix has also managed to call up thriller films that were never seen by anyone before, films like Bird Box, In The Shadow of The Moon, and Polar.
Now David Fincher has agreed to deliver two more projects for the streaming giant after The Killer which would be a feast for the viewers. David Fincher is known for his slow crime thriller films with a unique approach to filmmaking with techniques like distilled cinematography and color grading.
His filmography includes films like Se7en, Fight Club, Zodiac, Panic Room, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. He has entered talks with Michael Fassbender for the leading role in the film. Michael also has an impressive filmography which includes 12 Years a Slave, Hunger, Shame, and The X-Men Series.
The film will be written by long-time writer collaborators of David Fincher who first wrote the story for Fight Club and later went to Panic Room. Michael has had a busy schedule as he just finished filming his scenes for the Taika Watiti directed film Next Goal Wins.
Viewers can expect The Killer to drop on Netflix screens later next year. Until then they can enjoy the previous works of David Fincher on the streaming platform Netflix.
