DC fans are getting a treat of their lifetime as Zack Snyder’s Justice League is crashing the HBO Max servers all across the world and in terms of television, this year’s Arrowverse is doing pretty good so far as Batwoman, Black Lightning and The Flash are all delivering fast-paced and action-filled episodes of their latest seasons.

Few announcements were also made in the past couple of days as Matt Reeves’ Robert Pattinson-led The Batman has finished filming and is now moving on to the post-production phase. DC is developing a Hourman movie based on the eponymous Justice Society Of America character.

But the one thing that had all the fans hyped was the trailer drop of the brand new Suicide Squad film directed by James Gunn. The film is intended to be a sequel to 2016’s Suicide Squad. Well, the first trailer for the suicide squad is here and it looks as gorgeous and silly as anything can possibly get.

The trailer showcases the ensemble cast led by Margot Robie, Edris Alba, John Cena, David Dastalmachain, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Pete Davidson, Michael Rooker, and Peter Capaldi. The task force X is also known as The Suicide Squad is lead by Amanda Waller played by Viola Davis who gathers a team of anti-heroes to bring down Peter Capaldi’s The Thinker.

John Cena will play the role of Peacemaker who is all set to get his own tv show that is currently under production by James Gunn. Margot Robbie will reprise her role as Harley Quinn. David will portray Polka Dot Man and no one knows what his superpowers are.

There is only one way to find out whether the movie lives up to its hype and will it be better than its prequel by watching it. The Suicide Squad hits theatres and HBO Max on August 6, 2021.
