Universal has brought word that the upcoming sequels of the popular franchises are all set to be delayed one more time due to the audience retreating from the effect of the coronavirus pandemic. This year has already seen some delays in the form of No Time To Die, Kingsman 2, Morbius and A Quiet Place Part 2.
Now the hit movie series fast and the furious is delaying its highly anticipated film F9 to June 25, 2021. The film was originally scheduled to hit the theatres in May 2020 but the pandemic came in the way of a roller coaster action packed ride. The film has seen multiple delays and it is not still sure that it will hold on to its June 25, 2021 release date.
The film will focus on Dominic Torreto‘s brother played by John Cena who went rogue from the family a long ago and has started working for Cipher played by Charlize Theron. The stunts in this film are insane with heavy action material on both cars and helicopters that include free falling from a cliff and much more.
The film stars Vin Diesel, John Cena, Charlize Theron, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson and Sung Kang. The film will also focus on some answers that would probably try to explain how Han survives the attack by Deckard Shaw. But universal did caught us by surprise when they announced last year that 2 more fast and furious films are in early stages of development that would surely wrap up the franchise. Apart from this a sequel to 2019’s Hobbs and Shaw is planned along with a film centered around a female character.
In another bummer news by Universal the highly acclaimed Despicable Me franchise spinoff Minions 2 is getting delayed a whole year to July 2022. The beloved characters will now make an appearance from their last stint Despicable Me 3.
Well all we can do is to wait and hope for the films to hit theatres and not get delayed anymore.
