The hit game franchiseThe Last of Us” developed by Naughty Dog productions announced a couple of years ago that they are stepping in into a deal with Sony for adapting the video game series into a television show.

The distribution race began shortly after the announcement of the show with HBO nabbing the rights of the show for distribution in the United States.

The crew members were announced last year during the pandemic and work taking off shortly after the hiring of writers and production designers.

Sony and Naughty Dog have had their hands full for quite a while now as their first joint production project is scheduled to hit theatres later this year which is also based on a popular game franchise titled “Uncharted” starring Mark Wahlberg and Tom Holland in the lead characters.

Now jumping back on the cast of “The Last of Us“, HBO just announced that the series will be lead by two Game of Throned alums.

Pedro Pascal who shot to fame with the characters of Oberyn Martell and The Mandalorian himself along with mega-hit shows like Narcos has been tapped in to play the father in “The Last of Us” series.

Bella Ramsey who made quite an impression with her ruthless demeanor and impressive skills in Game of Thrones certainly caught the eye of her parent organization who gave her very first major role. Now she has one another responsibility to fulfill as she has been cast as the daughter of Pedro Pascal in the Last of Us.

Both Uncharted and The Last of Us have to prove their worth as they are the dawn of play station games being developed into movies and tv shows. Apart from sony, many other studios have found their interest in developing games into movies.

Warner Bros. is bringing out Mortal Kombat this year which is also based on a hit game franchise. Small games like Sonic and Pokemon have also seen the light of the day when they were released in the form of a film.
