Warner Bros. just dropped the very first trailer of the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat film which is scheduled to release on April 16 this year. The trailer displays intense violence through bloodshed and gore. It also focuses on the magical, mystical, and scintillating powers of all the martial art prodigies.

Based on the hit game franchise the film adaptation first came into existence with 1995’s Mortal Kombat film followed by a sequel couple of years later. Both the films gathered negative reviews but this did not stop Warner Bros. from scrapping off the plan.

They started building up the ideas for a reboot film and the development phase began more than 2 decades ago. After the creative differences, the project remained in limbo for no one knows how many years. But what like 4 years ago when they finally finalized the script and tapped a director who could convert this into a visually contrasting film.

Casting underwent for this film majorly picking out Asian-born actors. Location selection also took off a few months later to casting. Filming began somewhat a year later and now we finally have a first official trailer for Mortal Kombat.

The trailer appears to be R-rated itself which probably explains the movie would be too. The trailer showcases high-profile martial art sequences infused with the superhuman and mystical abilities of all the fighters. The trailer also points at a hunt for a serial killer that goes by the name Sub-Zero.

The trailer is filled with bloodshed and gore making it extremely violent for some views and that is how it received an R rating. However, the best part of the trailer is definitely the unmatched powers of Sub-Zero who can almost freeze anything in an instant.

The hype around the film is seriously heavy and with the trailer being that phenomenal it surely cannot be controlled anymore.

Mortal Kombat comes out on April 16, 2021, in theatres and on HBO Max as well.
