The Star Trek series started as a television show that depicted a group of futuristic space troopers whose objective was to discover other planets in the solar system where there was a possibility of life and can serve as a possibility of colonization of the humans of Earth. But that endeavor came as a surprise with alien species throughout the universe resisting the operation and started retaliating against the space troopers.
Five television series were developed with multiple storylines and characters. All those tv shows were broadcasted from 1966 to 2005. During their run on television 11 movies were developed and released simultaneously with the shows following the characters and storylines from the tv shows.
Gears shifted in 2009 when it was announced that the film franchise was all set to be rebooted and remade with JJ Abrams serving as ahead of the project whose duties would be to oversee the development of the new films. Till now three films have been released in the reboot section and multiple are announced as well.
There are currently plans for 4-star trek films that are being helmed by Kalinda Vasquez, Noah Hawley, Mark L Smith, and SJ Clarkson. Kalinda Vasquez’s announcement came up a couple of days ago and the remaining three films are set to enter the production phase in the coming months.
Gears have also shifted in the television section as well as there are 2 shows streaming their latest episodes for the latest seasons on CBS All Access and 2 more shows are planned to enter the legacy of the series sometime in the future.
